Trips in the early planning stage - in order of possible completion:

1. Yellowstone and Teton National Parks
Angela and I (and possible my brother) plan to take an extensive journey into the heart of the Wyoming national park system - Yellowstone and Teton. We also plan to drive, stumbling upon whatever crosses our path along the way. Summer '08.

2. Bike from New Orleans to Baton Rouge
Biking from New Orleans to Baton Rouge would be hard enough were the path a straight one, but this trip would follow the winding Mississippi River road, almost doubling the distance between the two cities. It's something that I've wanted to do for a long time, years in fact. I've never had the time to train, much less a bike worthy of the trip. I now have the bike, so it's just a matter of time.
COMPLETED East and West Bank!! Photos Going Up Soon!

3. Circumnavigation of Lake Pontchartrain in a Canoe/Kayak
My friend Dane and I are planning to, at the very least, cross Lake Pontchartrain along the 24 mile Causeway Bridge [orange line on map below]. We have already completed a test run along the Hwy. 11 bridge [green line on map below]. The trip was 10 miles round trip (5 there and 5 back) and was completed in 4 hours. The trip went very smoothly aside from me baking my camera in the sun. My main goal is to completely circumnavigate Pontchartrain (approx. 136 miles) in what would probably be a 5-6 day rowing/camping trip.
