Monument Valley - Arizona
Throughout our road trip, we were constantly trying to figure out how Monument Valley would fit into our schedule. We finally decided that if time permitted, we would stop on our way south - from Moab, UT to Tombstone, AZ. Unfortunately, we caught the scenic part of Monument Valley just as a large storm poured into the vicinity. Lighting, due to the clouds, was scarce, but we got a couple of decent shots.

This land is now part of the Navajo Nation Indian Reservation, as it was added to the reservation by President Chester Arthur in 1884. Most will recognize the area's characteristic landscapes from old westerns such as Stagecoach, She Wore a Yellow Ribbon, and Cheyenne Autumn.
