Slices of America is a photo essay project that started in 2000 with a simple idea: go somewhere, pay attention, take pictures, and write it down honestly. Over twenty-five years we’ve paddled 106 miles down Bayou Lafourche, hiked the West Rim of Zion, documented the BP oil spill from Grand Isle, camped in Homochitto National Forest, and cycled to the end of Louisiana. We’ve covered twenty-five states and counting. The site is written and photographed by Taylor Lasseigne with occasional contributions from friends and fellow travelers. If you’ve been somewhere worth writing about, we’d love to hear from you.
